Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home having a combined gross household earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are studying or plan to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
